Halifax is good. They have cheap dealing days about once a month.
Stocks and Shares ISAs that track FTSE100 or FTSE250 are an easy way to invest especially as small monthly amounts can be invested.

Ingur thanks. I did look at index tracker but ftse 100 lost money last year which worried me as I had thought trackers were the way to go

Shares and share indexes go up and down and you have to consider them to be a long term investment as part of a balanced portfolio and accept there will be still some risk, even over the long term. If they are for young DC for pension or university/house deposit etc they may be a good idea and may outperform cash, but it's not guaranteed.

But maybe you shouldn't be getting into them, if you're going to be too worried about short term losses, because that's what tempts you in to selling when the market is down and that's the fastest way to lose your money.

Barbra I'm happy to buy something a hold it but lots of firms offer the index tracker and I don't know what's the difference.

I'm happy to buy and leave it I was just wondering if however the fste thing was best. Although would it be good to buy something now anyway as prices low?
