Help I can’t find one I like. Today my hair feels waxy and lank from another one I’ve bought and tried.

I really want to find one (and a conditioner if I can one that I like too) I like to reduce the use of plastic bottles

I did use one from Lush, but not longer shop there.

I’ve tried 4 different, homemade/small producers now.

I like the friendly shampoo, it lathers nicely but it's soft so doesn't last long Sad

I tried funky soap shop, the shampoo lasts ages, but is more difficult to lather than friendly soap.
I found their conditioner too heavy.

I like Faith in nature conditioner, smells good, not too heavy.

I am on the look out for a longer lasting shampoo bar that lathers up nicely Smile

If you have oily hair the tea tree oil and neem bar is fab from Funky Soap. It's amazing for my hair.

I've been using that one for a couple of weeks, and my hair (v thick, slightly oily tendencies) is starting to feel very waxy and unpleasant. Before that, I was using Montalbano by Lush, which was great, but I'm miles from my nearest store so am trying out ones available locally. Might have to go back to Lush though...

Oops, clearly haven't got the hang of quoting someone! By ' that one' I meant the lavender and geranium one that xtinak linked.

Lessstressedhemum · 13/08/2019 09:39

rbe, use a vinegar rinse, it'll get rid of the residue. Use it a couple of times a week to begin with and then once a week ongoing.

I've been using that friendly Soap bar for ages but it took my very dry, curly hair about three weeks to adjust. Now, I wouldn't use anything else.

I like the Friendly Lavender and Geranium bar and do an ACV spritz and rinse. Hair has never been better!

Is it Lush's ethics? I rarely go in because they hassle so much, but I just kept my earphones in and refused to engage until I was at the till, haha! (It was the only place I knew that did solid shampoo.) I felt a bit rude and I know they are only doing their job, but arggh! Leave me alone!

I agree-are they actually told they have to comply with this aggressive selling?!

I went last year and as soon as I went in, one of the shop people pounced on me and asked what I was looking for, I politely said I was just looking-she asked me two more random questions before leaving me alone. This then happened twice more in quick succession by two separate shop assistants who had all been standing around watching the first one talk to me in the first place!

When the fourth person came up and said, ‘What’s your favourite smell?!’, I just walked out.

I haven’t been back since!

I'm currently using a Foamie one and not as impressed.

Previous;e used a Clovelly Sopa Compnay and it was much better

I can second ethique- I love it! I had the waxy feeling and lots of dandruff with a lush one but this is so much better. Plus the pink one smells beautiful. It doesn’t lather as much as bottle shampoo but definitely enough

I'm a Solid bar user for around 7 months. I started on lush bar shampoos last January, but wanted something palm free (and Lush's website was hazy on that).

It's pricey, but it works. I rub the bar actually on my head rather than lather in my hand. They do a conditioning bar which works well for me. For the DC we still use bottle conditioner because they have much longer, tanglier, hair and a lot less tolerance to brushing!
