Children's party bags ideas

ineedagirlsname · 11/08/2019 04:11

Hi all
As the title suggests really- DS is 7 shortly and I'd like to do party bags at the end of his party to give to the children as they leave.
Apart from sweets, crisps etc anyone got any other ideas to put in them?
(Approx 10 boys soccer themed party)
Thanks!

I'd never put crisps in a party bag. I once bought a load of those finger trap plants....can't remember what they're called;.They were very popular.

sashh · 11/08/2019 06:52

Most supermarkets have packs of things like yo-yos, pens, notepads. I've given light up balloons to children which have been popular.

Last one I went to it was cupcake baking kits - I loved them, no plastic shite.

Ds went to a football party aged 7 and they were all given t shorts which said something like eat, sleep, football repeat... they were well received. Or you could buy those Jeromy Hppy bean bags (I think called foot bags) which they can practise their football skills with?

Tiredsahm84 · 11/08/2019 07:00

Give them a football to take home, sports direct to deals for parties

TellMeItsNotTrue · 11/08/2019 07:18

Football and a cupcake

These are great for party favours. They do football ones that you could add to their name/initials depending on budget.

Give them all a ball to take home. Much better gift than a bag of tat. Or a t-shirt. Or just give a medal and a piece of cake.

piefacedClique · 11/08/2019 07:24

Yes to the footballs.... I did that this year.... football party.... football, plastic whistle, note book like a referees and two home made laminated red and yellow cards.... and I’m not sure they still do them... a bag of Cadbury’s premier league chocolates which looked like trophies x

For the sake of the environment don't use plastic bags and don't put plastic crap inside. A paper bag with some cake and a small wooden toy or as PP said, a football. The parents will thank you!

HennyPennyHorror · 11/08/2019 08:45

Agree about the footballs. Perfect gift.

MIdgebabe · 11/08/2019 08:51

HOW many footballs will a child need? It’s still stuff that the kids probably don’t need, tthat is manufactured and distributed using resources and contributing to climate change

A party should be enough. Stick to a piece of cake.

shellysheridan · 11/08/2019 10:16

We've done

  • make your own party bag, put out a small bag and bowls of sweets, they pick their own
  • soft emoji key rings
  • bubbles
  • frisbee

If you put ‘stocking fillers’ into the search bar on Amazon you’ll get loads of suggestions.

Stompythedinosaur · 11/08/2019 10:58

I normally put in a lolly, 1 or 2 small packs of sweets, bubbles, a glider, a couple of temporary tattoos, maybe a little notebook and pen or a bouncy ball?

About 5/6 little things is good I think.

hellojim · 11/08/2019 11:07

The Book People have a couple of collections of football based books for his age that would work out at around a quid each (Ultimate Football Heroes and Frankie's Magic Football collections. No idea how to link sorry!

OhioOhioOhio · 11/08/2019 11:09

Bubble bath
Advent calendars
Selection boxes
Baker Ross is also a good place to look.

Imaystillbedrunk · 11/08/2019 11:39

For my son's football party they got a medal, pack of match attacks, certificate and cake.

GreenwoodLane · 11/08/2019 11:56

Book people books / sticker books. Can work out st about £1 per head and no plastic tat.

DelurkingAJ · 11/08/2019 12:02

We were given footballs at a toddler football party. Brilliant. Played with constantly. Not sure for older DC though. Can you get real footballs cheaply enough? DS1 (6) would be delighted. Books are a minefield at that age as their reading varies from chapter books down to struggling.

piefacedClique · 11/08/2019 12:09

Depending on how many children are invited.... we bought the big Sondico box but they are cheap enough individually x

I find most party bag fillers (and the bags) end up straight in the bin which is so wasteful and bad for the environment. I like the ball idea, as more likely to last a long time rather than single use rubbish!

Star801 · 11/08/2019 12:23

Carton of juice - kids will be thirsty on the way home from a football party.
Football cards and a medal would be good too.

ineedagirlsname · 11/08/2019 12:35

Thanks for the suggestions - I love the football idea- am in Ireland though so not sure of getting a good deal.. have a 7 week old baby and live remotely so will be relying on internet for ideas! Although maybe there IS a lot to be said for a paper bag and a piece of cake..
