Where to buy bras for pre-teens?

I'm trying to find bras for DD, who is just starting high school. I have two main criteria that seem impossible to meet:

  • nude colour, or at least white, so they don't show too much through her school shirt. Nude seems impossible to find in kids' bras and whites often come in a multipack with many different colours
  • a small back size. I can't find less than 28 but this is definitely too big for her. Cup size would be A as she's outgrowing AA.

Any suggestions? I've been looking in the kids/teen sections of the main high street shops (M&S, John Lewis, etc).

peacocks is also good

I think 28 is the smallest backsize made. Have you looked at bralets?

These are all available in a ladies size 4/6 if she’s super slim. They’re very comfortable.

Sainsburys do a twinpack of white bras in the children's section but I think they start from 28. They do a multipack of white crop tops in age sizes.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out. It does look like 28 is the smallest back size made, but this seems really dumb for bras for 11/12 year olds. She's not super slim but far from full grown. I wear 28 myself! The difficulty of buying bras with small back sizes is one of my bugbears, but I did assume it would be possible in the teen/preteen sections!

My 14 year old was measured and came up 32d!!!! She sure doesn’t look that big an she’s fine with a crop top unless games day. Can your daughter wear those instead? She doesn’t need a bra for support at her size.

iismum · 10/08/2019 21:02

She does sometimes wear crop tops but definitely prefers bras. I'm not convinced she really needs bras but she says she's much more comfortable in them and prefers to wear them.

Where did your daughter get measured? As per lots of MN threads about bra fittings, most places measure far too big. I wore 32 bras for years but am so much more comfortable since I got re-measured and started wearing 28.

Asda have quite a good selection in a 28 back, but I'd agree that smaller back sizes should be available. Having said that, when you're wearing the bra for the sake of coverage rather than support I don't suppose it matters as much.

My DD started with the age ones in New Look, a two pack of a white and black one. They're literally two 'shaped' triangles, not underwired. We then moved on to the smallest size of Primark t-shirt £2 ones. They're ideal.

Hollister have some lovely crop tops on sale at the moment. My 12 yoDD loves them.

Violetparis · 10/08/2019 21:13

Agree with poster who said Primark.

iloveredwine · 10/08/2019 21:18

next has teen bras too.

Sexnotgender · 10/08/2019 21:21

Can she measure herself with your help? Boob or bust is great.

dementedpixie · 10/08/2019 21:23

M&S angel range does 28 back I think. If she has any breast tissue then she is unlikely to be an A cup. What are her under and over bust measurements?

namechangedforthis1980 · 10/08/2019 22:45

Primark?
