Learning activities for a 2 year old

Never had much experience with children before I had DD so I don't know what is normal or not. The Health Visitor did a recent visit which went well and she was impressed with the fact she could do things like jigsaw puzzles. So obviously I'm happy DD seems to be doing well. I just feel like I want to be doing to the most I can to help DD carry on, but obviously in a fun way. We have been learning colours, for example, when painting. Just wondered what fun learning activities other MNs do? TIA

Things for fine motor control like lacing and threading, orchard games are great fun, playdoh etc. Just keep it fun!

Fine motor skill is great for writing prep. Big chalks outside. Painting with water outside. Singing and rhyme really helps with speech development. Organising toys in repeating patterns e.g. brick, doll, brick, doll...can you keep it going? Grouping things in numbers is more important than recognising numbers e.g. get me 5 bricks. Share the sweets for you and your sister so you have 3 each. Lots of reading books together.

Doing daily routines and chatting e.g. we need 4 potatoes for dinner... Let's wait until we see the green man to cross the road, etc.

Take her in the garden. Watch the birds and butterflies; look under stones for creepy crawlies; tell her the names of flowers, warn her about eating berries.
