I've been suffering for 3 weeks now, saw GP yesterday after trying over the counter pain relief, back support and a tens like thing. He's prescribed Naproxen, Gabapentin and Lansoprazole also referred for physio.

When will the pain start to subside?! It's focused on my upper leg and at times far worse than when I was in labour

I've got a knee pillow being delivered today but any other suggestions?

Keep active. I've had it for 18months and only cope when I take naproxen and keep moving.

Hi. I am about 3 months in and i still can’t sit straight on a chair. I had Naproxen too but have stopped it now. Can’t sit in the bath either and travelling in a car is shocking. I have a wedge that goes under my knees which helps. Feel free to PM me xxx

What Benes said. Painkillers and keep moving. You need to keep moving so that your muscles can support the affected area.

When i had it a dr, a chiropractor and a fitness person all said "the cobra" yoga pose. Lie flat on ur front, pull ur elbows under you and left ur weight on ur forearms keeping ur hips on the floor. Lift as far as u can but dont push it. Repeat a few times. Do at least twice a day. Keep doing after the pain stops. Worked for me. And tramadol. Smile
Good luck.

I found the child pose in yoga helped.

Chiropractor did wonders as well as trying to keep as active as possible although I know it’s very hard and painful. Ice packs were better than heat.

My Oesteopath really helped with the mobility. Keep walking even if you feel like you can't to begin with it does get better. Icepacked helped me and I usually hate ice on stuff..

I suffer with my back periodically. Yoga with Adrienne has a very short video for sciatica. It's been very helpful in the past. Not at all athletic, and very mindful of different pain levels.

Thank you for your suggestions - moving does help but will also try the yoga poses

Has anyone found a Tens machine offered any relief?
