Very small pleasing things

My DD (three and nearly a half) went down the big slide at soft play today all on her own like a big brave girl. (She’d previously been far too chicken.) This tiny achievement has made my (very pedestrian) day. I’m so proud and happy for her.

What small things have made your day brighter?

My daughter (2.5 years) spent the whole morning overreacting to the tiniest things and refusing to nap even when she was clearly exhausted. I finally gave up trying to please her and did the hoovering instead (think rice crispies + grenade!)

I went in her room to check on her after and she was asleep on the mini sofa in her room, cuddling her doll. She's never self-soothed that well or quickly before and she looked so serene.

Hooray!

I took ds2 and ds3 swimming today, ds3 is 5 and he has been having swimming lessons at school for the last term and he can now swim without arm bands. ExH has seen him swim unaided but I hadn't until now- so pleased for my boy! Ds2 was delighted as well, and I thoroughly enjoyed larking about in the pool with them for the first time in ages. (Normally it's 3 boys and me and I am more of a referee than a partaker of fun Grin)

I managed to paint the part of the kitchen ceiling that had to be repaired after a leak. DP has been saying he will do it for months, and has gone away, and I knocked the job off in about 40 minutes, from set up to everything away.
