After rising early to go shopping for the day with two toddlers and a baby, walking miles with teenager to buy off to uni. stuff for an 18 year old. Finally collapsing in car to drive home OH phones to ask what is for tea. Chinese I say hopefully. Big sighs..... I will cook the meatballs in the fridge.

When I ask what he did today admits he is exhausted, a.m. visit to plumbers merchant, lunch at home further visit to builders merchants. took up all his time in the eight hours he had.

Is marriage a pissing contest as to who had a more tiring day???

You had the most tiring day obviously! Was that his working day ?

BubblesBubbly · 06/08/2019 19:44

Yours sounds most tiring... although his would be if he had the kids in tow and you had no kids. All in all, jobs involving kids is tiring!

Me, definitely. My job is mentally exhausting and I'm on my feet all the time. DP has to manage his own workload as well as covering for others but his office is more laid back than my workplace and he usually finishes earlier and gets more breaks.

Generally because I drive I also end up doing most of the running around after work or on my days off too, I feel I don't get much leisure time compared to DP, though he is helpful when he can be.

I dont mind, my job is exhausting but I enjoy it and the days pass quickly because of the pace.

Me but my ex wont work I was doing 40 hour weeks plus house with kids I'm losing my job soon but I still have the house and sen kids to cope with this time with no job no adults to talk to it's quite sad and depressing really

You definitely had the most tiring working day!

My DP probably had the most tiring working day, he has an hour commute each way as well, and I'm a SAHM to our 16 month old DS. But the difference is when he gets in from work and on weekends he can relax and do fun things and play with DS.

I am on call 24/7. Our DS isn't a very good sleeper and won't go to bed until 9-10pm most nights so I'm effect I am on the go from whenever he wakes (anytime between 5-7am) until bedtime. He does have a nap still but that is usually when I prepare food for the day or catch up on housework!

So if you look at a typical work day his looks more tiring, but overall I reckon mine is 😂 I love it though, I am so grateful to him for providing for us so I can stay at home Smile and he is thankful for the way I am raising our DS and do all the house stuff, so it works for us!

Two toddlers, a baby and a teenager Shock You win!

He might be tired too but I bet he wouldn't swap with you.

Stompythedinosaur · 06/08/2019 21:50

We both work and share childcare, so whoever is at home with the dc has the harder day.

BubblesBubbly · 08/08/2019 18:20

Good point @formerbabe! OP maybe you should ask him

BarbaraofSeville · 08/08/2019 19:27

Have you forgotten to mention that his visits to the plumbers and building merchants involved walking several miles and he carried his purchases home on foot or is he just being ridiculous?

Why didn't he cook the meatballs if you were out all day running errands with the DC and he did not very much?

justasking111 · 08/08/2019 19:30

He did cook the meatballs, what grinds my gears is when the question what is for tea is asked when I have been out all day.
