Recommend me some random foods from the supermarket that I might not have come across please!

Staycation. Doing a Tesco order. Getting in the stuff we only normally buy on holiday (whole salami, convenience food I secretly love, that sort of thing).

Want to make it feel like when you go into a supermarket on holiday and find random snacks and stuff you haven't tried before. What off the beaten track goodies might I not have unearthed in Tesco before?

(I know Lidl would be a better bet but it has to be online today).

Their pretzels from the bakery are a half decent approximation of the real thing.

Plaintain chips from the world food section are lovely.

Gifflar (mini cinnamon buns) and the bag of mini chocolate filled croissants always go down well in our house.

Ours haven't had the plantain chips for ages, I can't find them anywhere.
We like the pretzels dunked into homemade lentil soup, they must be eaten in the day though.
They had cornbread muffins for a while, but have stopped selling them,

The chocolate and nut tear and share bun and you must eat it on the day it arrives. Ohhh yes.

Scallops, have them flash fried with a dash of lime juice.

Try a new aperitif or have a "cocktail of the day" before dinner.

Try a chilled soup, maybe gazpacho, or garden pea with yoghurt.

Have a look for an unusual ice cream flavour, serve it with a drizzle of liqueur poured over.
