I am very lucky to be visiting Singapore in March/april for 12 nights. I'm looking for sightseeing tips, restaurant/dining recommendations, hidden delights to visit from seasoned travellers and residents please :)

I love Singapore - we spent 10 days there last year.

Highlights for me were:

  • Gardens by the Bay. We did a day visit including the Biodomes and an evening visit for the skywalk
  • Afternoon Tea at The Fullerton - although I think Raffles will have re-opened by then
  • The National Orchid Gardens
  • Lau Pa Sat Food Market for Dim Sum and Dosa's
  • The Singapore Flyer

Not a big fan of theme parks but we did do the walk across to Sentosa and the train back, including a trip to the beach.

Bump and following.
I'm going in April 2020.

Thank you. We We're there last year too but didnt see everything we wanted to. Gardens By the Bay was amazing. Sentosa was equally as amazing. We didn't really dine out and have traditional food which I regretted. Last time we stayed opposite Haji lane. This time we are just off Scott's Road.

I went with someone who was very into military history and they dragged me reluctantly to this www.battlebox.com.sg/

It turned out to be my favourite thing in Singapore, incredibly interesting to learn about it’s role in WW2 and made me a bit ashamed I hadn’t known more about it beforehand. It takes about an hour and is very central.

Chjimes has some great restaurants, and I loved Gardens by the Bay, went both day and night.

The Chinese cultural centre is like the Tenement Museum in New York, but for Singapore.

The night zoo is brilliant.

I really enjoyed the Shophouses as well.

Sunday is incredibly busy because everyone has the day off. We went to raffles for high tea that day as we could book and it was limited numbers. Every other tourist spot will be rammed

The train MRT is super easy to navigate we used it all the time. If you plan to use it stay close to a station

It is very humid - worth staying somewhere with a pool. Eat at the hawkers markets chillli crab and chicken rice are a must

We went to the Changi prison museum and Palau ubin a little island which is what Singapore was like in the 60s. Both really interesting

Best days for universal studios are Monday and Wednesday.

China town is great

It is common for the hotels to give you a mobile to use while you are there which has various helpful apps on it. We used ours all the time

It is a brilliant place, have fun

Bugis Street And Little India for shopping. Enjoy the street food, it’s all very clean and safe to eat.

Sentosa Island is lovely for a day on the beach, the beaches have shark nets so are safe for swimming, but take water shoes to protect against stone fish. The cars all have loungers, buy an occasional drink and you can stay all day.

It’s hot, really hot! Take an umbrella for the daily downpour.

Yue Hua Department Store in Chinatown is a treasure trove of authentic Chinese clothing/toiletries... Never met anyone else who's been there! Family in Singapore always take us to Lau Pa Sat hawker centre/Newton Circus & Maxwell Rd to eat satay/sambal stingray😋...
The War Museum at Changi is one of the most poignant exhibitions I've seen (with the headphones on)... And drinks in the lobby of the Shangri-La is a must for me...
