I have a water dispenser built into my fridge how long is water safe to use from this?

Surely they wouldn't be added if they were a massive health risk?

I would not let the water stand in mine for more than 24 hours before flushing it through. Rarely required though as the teens drain it daily (or twice daily in hot weather) and yes, I am the only filler upper!

Confused about the reference to cleaning out pipes though - on mine the water holder has only a short spout and that unscrews for cleaning - also a Samsung.
