Selling house. Deep clean?

So we are selling our house.

It's been repainted from top to bottom.

New carpets.

New kitchen.

I have a cleaner every week. She dusts, hoovers, bleaches and mood floors. A good job.

However, when putting it on the market, do I need a deep clean?

I've been quoted £625 for a deep clean and I'm a bit 😲. I pay my cleaner £12.50 p.h. The deep cleaners want £25 p.h.

What do you reckon?

House will be empty by the way, as we are moving abroad.

No just a normal clean up would suffice. Why spend the extra money when you could put it towards something for your new home. ☺️

Could your cleaner just clean for a few more hours next time? Do a bigger job but you'll still be paying her the normal amount?

Puppylucky · 02/08/2019 22:32

Your host could be on sale for weeks or months so whats the point of a one off deep clean?

Sarapq2 · 02/08/2019 22:34

I work as a cleaner if any one wants a deep clean I say that I will do extra hours , I’m currently doing two hours a week extra for a family and doing one room as a deep clean each time

IdblowJonSnow · 02/08/2019 22:35

No. Not on top of all that you're already doing/have done.

I had a deep clean done after I moved out. even though the house was clean and tidy for viewings after we’d packed everything and moved furniture we hadn’t moved for 8 years the house was gross. Everything was cleaned - inside fridge/freezer with steam cleaner etc. Looked great. The new owners tore it all apart but I’d moved into so many scuzzy houses I couldn’t leave it just ‘swept clean’ as required.

Thanks all.

I'm near Aylesbury in Bucks.

House will be empty for sale as we are leaving the U.K. at the end of August and I was concerned a standard clean wouldn't be enough. It being empty would show up any speck of dirt.

However, it is looking great with all the new stuff (am jealous of new owners, whoever they may be).

My cleaner is on holiday for a month so I will sort a one off clean.
