Who dreams up this crap and why do people share it? What is it intended to achieve? If anyone is keeping score of my likes I am evil incarnate.

Yes but I thought virtues signalling was I think Johnson is dreadful and support immigration. Where there are at least people who disagree. Is anyone ever going to say they hate their children or love cancer?

The worrying thing is one had just popped up for me and I went to see who had shared it. No one, it was a suggested post for me. Do I act like the sort of person who needs to affirm my respect for all the old people around who fought in the WAR.

It's the I KNOW WHO WON'T that makes me feel guilty (when they're genuinely on my feed rather than suggested). I'm usually thinking "what a pile of crap" and then when I get to that line it's like they're reading my mind and saying ahhh ha!

I just unfollow/unfriend any one who shares shit like this on social media.

I have cancer, and if anyone attempted to tell me what I should share on social media I would tell them to fuck right off.

Isn’t there something to do with getting a certain amount of likes / shares and then selling the page? Older people are the ones who share all the time. I particular like the ‘can I get an Amen?’ ones!

The other type are just as bad. The ones where every woman is meant to change their status just to a colour which is the colour of their pants that day and that raises awareness of breast cancer or some such utter bollocks.

Remember the awful chain letters? You got a letter, and you were supposed to write and send it to ten more friends adding your name in a list taking the top one off (or something like that) and if you didn’t you’d have bad luck for life or some other tragedy. These stupid ‘share if you care’ remind me of that.
Also the silly ‘you have one day to tell Facebook not to share your details’ cut and paste thing which is meaningless.

It's more sinister than that - they are used by hackers / scammers can suss out who is most likely to fall for a more lucrative scam and create a hit list.

They make me really peed off. I also hate the way it always says ‘copy and paste don’t share!’ Then tells the hard of thinking how to copy. There is a function right there that shares it straight onto my page why would you not use that if you were up for sharing this shire, why do they need to be copied?

Every time those breast cancer ones come up and say ‘keep the men guessing!’ Nope I post it on my wall with the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and how to check your breasts. I don’t understand why writing ‘satsuma’ raises awareness, i’d rather people check themselves and men were also aware in case they notice something off. Men also get breast cancer!

I've unfollowed people on twitter for this sort of crap. Same with nauseating memes and any trite reference to welcome to fucking Holland.

Holland can fuck right off, I automatically ignore anyone who tries to tag me in that shit.
