Are you expecting an Amazon delivery today?

Because it’s at my house. Package arrived addressed to someone I’ve never heard of, at my address. Amazon investigated and said I could keep it or get rid as I see fit.

So I opened it, and it’s an eclectic mix. Someone wants to read classic literature, whilst doing something with castor oil and using glute resistance bands and ankle straps.

This is better than a shopping list right?! Sorry if I have your parcel Blush

What a selection Grin

Crunchymum · 02/08/2019 16:29

This is indeed a modern day shopping list

It doesn't disappoint Grin

Madfrogs · 02/08/2019 16:34

Well you have ruined someone’s weekend Grin Wink

FlowerTink · 02/08/2019 16:41

What a parcel though! Grin

DontCallMeShitley · 02/08/2019 16:56

The caster oil would concern me a little.

LoudBatPerson · 02/08/2019 17:25

Is someone having a wind up?

Duh an odd selection of items to get mistakingly delivered.

I can see mistakes happening, and a parcel getting sent to wrong address.

I know that sometimes I order weird combinations from Amazon, as they sell just about everything and are so convenient.

However having the odd mix and wrong address seems deliberate to me, like someone is pulling your leg.

OverInfestedBadger · 02/08/2019 17:37

I’m too old and too boring for all that shite

Hair stuff, fitness stuff and something to read. Seems pretty normal to me.

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 02/08/2019 18:13

Is this one of those things that they were talking about on the red the other day. People are getting sent packages to their houses by companies. So then they can use you as an actual buyer to put up a fake review. Lots of people have had this done apparently. ?

ThatLibraryMiss · 02/08/2019 19:09

The fake review stuff is cheap plasticky crap costing pennies, not what OP got.

ElizaPancakes · 02/08/2019 19:11

I am but it’s a tool for my brother so I’m not your mystery person!

Whisky2014 · 02/08/2019 19:13

Why would Amazon say to keep it? Why not just return it? And was there not a name on the label? So if you sent it back Amazon would know the account that ordered it Confused

This is weird

TooTrueToBeGood · 02/08/2019 19:13

Some sort of period drama inspired DIY kinky sex kit perhaps.

OhioOhioOhio · 02/08/2019 19:19

An excellent modern day shopping list. What a naice treat.

MadisonAvenue · 02/08/2019 19:21

Whisky2014 I ordered some lovely Clarks sandals last week but decided to return them as I wasn't sure if I'd wear them very often. I tried doing a return where the post office print the return label for you but my local one had run out of labels. I stood outside trying to cancel the return on the Amazon app and re-do it with Hermes as there's a parcel shop right next door. I couldn't see a way to do it so used live chat, explained what I needed and was then told that rather than cause me any inconvenience my card would be credited and I could keep the shoes, no need to return them.

Whisky2014 · 02/08/2019 19:25

@MadisonAvenue wtf that's crazy!

plominoagain · 02/08/2019 23:16

I'm currently in the midst of a refund from Amazon France , after they sent me what I suspect is someone's thesis on " Effects of Andrographis Paniciulata on performance, mortality and Coccidiosis in broiler chickens " about chickens in Thailand . And charged me £87 even though I have no account with amazon France , and they have no trace of any order . Bizarre.

This practice is par for the course with Amazon, from experience. I've had duplicates/wrong items sent to my house on occasion and never once have I been asked to return them.

Ditto. I suspect they have a minimum £ per order under which they just deem the process of taking the order back in, entering items back into catalogue and putting them back into the stock in their huge warehouses is just too onerous to bother.

Mystery solved - neighbour’s teenage daughter didn’t know her own address Grin
I’ve handed it over

Yes! A diffuser and a security light .

Don’t fancy yours much.

MadisonAvenue · 09/08/2019 13:55

Okay, who has my nail varnish?

It was apparently delivered through the letterbox but it's not there, it's not in my designated safe place and none of the neighbours have it either.
