Any mechanics or people who know about cars?

I accidentally drove (a mile or so - whoops Blush) this morning with the handbrake on, only realising when the car started producing smoke and a smell of burning rubber. Stopped car, let all the smoke disappear, waiting ten mins for everything to cool down, and have driven home. Tested brakes many times and all seem fine. Meant to do a 90 min motorway drive tomorrow but obviously don't want to put anyone in danger - do I have to do anything to the car or get a mechanic to look at the brakes? (I tested handbrake, normal braking and emergency brakes and all fine).

Depends on what type of car you have and how old it is. There could be no damage, or it could be a death trap.

Does it have disc brakes or drums?

Electronic parking brake or manual?

Details would help.Smile

@T0getherindreams it is a recently serviced 2007 Ford Galaxy. Manual parking brake (but automatic car). I took it for a short drive this pm and again tried out the breaks normally and emergency and it seemed fine. No juddering or change in braking, no smell or noise.
