Help cat stepped into paint

My cat has just stepped into the paint I'm using with one paw. After a chase round the house I've washed it (and got the scars for my trouble) but she's run off now. How bad is it - do I need to take her to the vet?

Probably not. My cat stepped all over my freshly painted windowsill and then walked paint paw marks across the kitchen floor before buggering off out again before I could wipe her paws. She lived to tell the tale.

If she hasn’t invested any or got any in her eye you’ll be ok. My old boy cat used to come home covered in oil every so often and we’d just shampoo it off. I say “just” shampoo him but if you’ve ever shampooed a cat you’ll know it’s not a simple task!

A similar thing happened to me years ago when my cat trod/fell in creosote. I managed to get the worst off in the bath (went down well!). I think the danger is when the cat tries to wash the affected area and ingests whatever toxin remains. If it is only one paw where the paint will ultimately dry and flake off, I wouldn't be too concerned. Depends on amount but a trip to the vet may give you peace of mind!

What sort of paint was it? Just keep an eye to make sure she's not licking it but she should be fine. Mine is a little sod for getting into stuff she shouldn't. She once ate a plaster (I'd just taken it off my finger to replace and she gobbled it up).

Took her to the vet because she was acting a bit odd. Vet was like are you sure she ate it? Most cats are sensible about what they eat. He'd no sooner finished speaking before she puked a perfectly whole plaster.

She was fine and still wants to eat random things. 😂😂😂

I had a cat who sat on the lid of a newly opened paint tin. We wiped him down(with difficulty!), and he lived to a ripe old age.

I think it all got washed off but now she's ran off very cross with me and prabably licking her foot as I've made it wet. I'll keep an eye on her but thanks for letting me know your tales

She's back and very cross but had some dreamies so I think she'll forgive me

she'll probably be fine, my DCat ran though a hole that DH had just filled with some expanding foam filler - luckily she was quite little and didn't mind having a good wash in the kitchen sink. She was perfectly fine
