Flipping hypnothbirthing

I did hypnobirthing with dd1 and it was amazing. I'm trying to top up my skills by listening to a 40m self hypnosis track now that baby #2 is approaching, but I literally CANNOT stay awake to finish it. I've tried listening at lots of different times of day; after a cup of tea; hungry; after food....I'm just so bloody exhausted that the relaxation portion at the beginning sends me into a beautiful deep sleep.

Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution!? I fully recognise this is pretty much the definition of a middle class / first world problem.

Enjoy the sleep! Your mind will still be listening anyway.

I rate it for helping to stay calm in labour, but if nothing else, those CDs gave me so many hours of blissful naps!

Ex Hypno teacher here..... it doesn't matter if you fall asleep! Your subconscious will be taking it all in.

Good luck x

Maybe during labour you will also fall asleep and you'll wake up to discover you've birthed a beautiful baby painlessly?

I also fell asleep a lot second time around. I didn't even use the track for my actual labour and had a brilliant hypnobirth!

I loved my hypno birthing CD first time round. With my second pregnancy I really resisted listening to it for some reason. But in labour everything from the first time kicked in and got me through. I used the breathing techniques and visualisations without any thought - it was all there still from the first time round.
