Why do I feel like this...

So for the past couple of weeks I have had a constant headache, migraine type. Had eyes tested and been doctors who just said down to stress etc.

Anyway been away for 10 days and never had the headache once, back home now for two days and the headache has started again..I'm starting to worry it is something to do with the house. No one else in the household has complained of headaches...any ideas

Carbon monoxide monitors up to date?

ineedawin · 28/07/2019 17:53

@TheQueef yes that's the first thing I thought of; I have one in kitchen and one in living room

They only last for seven years, some five.
I didn't know it was in a fire brigade email so I checked mine and replaced.
Hopefully a more useful reply will come. Flowers

Mold
In their article on migraines and the environment, Deborah I. Friedman, M.D., and Timothy De Ver Dye, Ph.D., note that mold causes a higher percentage of headaches, as well as trouble concentrating, in women than men. They noted that molds produce substances that generate pungent odors, and it may be the individual's response to the odor that triggers headaches.

Home Computer
Friedman and De Ver Dye note that working at the computer triggered headaches in 14.5 percent of one group and aggravated existing headaches in nearly a third of other subjects with chronic migraines. In addition to headaches, some individuals develop neck and shoulder pain working at their computers.
They also found individuals using a computer for more than five hours are more likely to develop headaches and back pain, stiff shoulders and other physical symptoms.

Caffeine?

How much coffee, tea or cola do you drink at work?

SleepingIsOverrated · 28/07/2019 19:09

Is it anything to do with your lights? I'm a self employed trainer and if I teach in a classroom I get an awful migraine... theatres, boardrooms etc and I'm fine.

It's taken a while to figure out but I'm fairly sure it's the tyre If bulb used in strip lights... not saying your home is a classroom Grin but worth a thought!

Thank you for replying.
I try to drink at least a litre of water a day, I have no caffeine apart from one cup of tea in the morning. I do use a computer at work but haven't been back to work yet and the headaches started.

I had a thought this morning though, I do like scented candles and I am forever lighting them in the home, I wonder if it could be this? I am going to leave them off for a while and see if this helps

Smart meter?

tectonicplates · 29/07/2019 11:28

Get rid of the scented candles.

ineedawin · 29/07/2019 14:36

@Mumsymumphy I don't have a smart metre

@ineedawin

Have you had your eyes tested? I had a similar experience as a child and it turned out I really needed glasses / lenses as I hadn't realised my headaches were due to poor vision.

ineedawin · 30/07/2019 21:30

I did have my eyes tested and do wear glasses which didn't really seem to help the headache.

I haven't had my candles lit for two days now and no headache, I have been researching and apparently scented candles can cause a migraine...hopefully that is what it was and I can now avoid them

What sort of lights do you have in your house?
