Question for cooks, can't get whipping cream, can I mix single and double?

Recipe calls for whipping cream, says double will not work as well.
I can't get whipping cream as nowhere local seems to have it.

Whipping cream has a fat content of about 36%, from what I can see if I mix 50/50 single and double it would give a fat content of about 33/34%, does anybody know if mixing the two will work?

just whip double cream, it works perfectly well

What's the recipe?
I've always used double instead of whipping with no issues.

Normally I would use double but the recipe specifically states that double doesn't work as well as whipping(too heavy)

I just use double.

Just use the electric whisk to whip the cream, it is the volume in whipped cream that adds the air into what ever your making.

Don’t see why not, but I’d just whip the double cream and save the faffing. Doesn’t work ‘as well’ isn’t the same as ‘won’t work’. But I’m a serial ingredient substituter as I often fail to plan!

What's the recipe? I can't see why double cream wouldn't work as well.

If it is cake, it works fine to use double cream.
