Hiya,
I had the weirdest feeling last night, like the little pops of baby movement you get at 15 weeks ish.. poas and I’m pregnant!

Complete surprise and I’m still getting my head around it. This will be baby number two, but my last pregnancy was nearly 9 years ago and I’ve no idea what I’m supposed to do now!

Tia

Congratulations
Put the kettle on. Tell your partner
And prepare for sleepless nights and the odd poonami

It’s going to be fine Once you get used to the idea of a new baby you’ll swap the shock for delight
( I know. Ive been there)

wigglybluelines · 26/07/2019 22:18

Congratulations! Flowers

How pregnant do you think you might be?

wigglybluelines · 26/07/2019 22:20

In the morning, call your GP surgery f they're open and ask for a booking in appointment.

Go chemist and get vitamins and folic acid and make a booking appointment (docs will tell you where).

TessTackle · 26/07/2019 22:28

Thank you thank you thank you!

I think the maximum I could be is 4 weeks if I’m honest, I was taking the mini pill & so periods haven’t been regular.

Folic acid & vitamins tomorrow and I’ll get on the phone to the gp too

Are you happy op, wanting another?
Hard to know what to suggest...

wigglybluelines · 26/07/2019 22:33

Are you sure? Very unusual (impossible?) to feel movement at 4 weeks!

Knittedjimmychoos · 26/07/2019 22:34

Sorry just seen its a good thing.
Congratulations 💐💐🎊🎊. How exciting, yes gp etc.

wigglybluelines · 26/07/2019 22:34

Have you been unwell at all while taking the pill? Or been late taking one?

TessTackle · 26/07/2019 23:26

I don’t think it actually was movements @wigglybluelines the “baby” is the size of a poppy seed currently so I wouldn’t feel it...

It was more of a woo moment because the weird feeling made me take the test & here I am!

OP posts:
TessTackle · 26/07/2019 23:27

I’ve had a dicky tummy from the heat & definitely had a couple of late ones.

Apologies if I'm being totally dense but how do you know that? If you were on the pill, how do you know when you conceived? Could you not be so far along that you did feel the baby?

Tobebythesea · 27/07/2019 03:05

Congratulations Flowers

I only felt popping with my second from 13 weeks.

I personally wouldn’t make a GP appointment as around my way you self refer to your local midwife and it would be a waste of an appointment. I’d ask the GP receptionist though and start taking folic acid ASAP.

TessTackle · 27/07/2019 08:27

@wigglybluelines you’re not being dense at all!
I took a clear blue test which has put me at 3 weeks plus.. so that could be anything!

I’m Going from my last period which was nearly 5 weeks ago because I don’t know what else to go off.

I’d genuinely hope I’m not that far along, as we’ve had a boozy holiday and some nights out too..

I don’t think I’ve actually felt the baby move, that’s just what the sensation was like which made me test.

@Tobebythesea

With my first I had to book in with my gp first and then get referred to the epu or a midwife. I didn’t even know self referral was a thing!

OP posts:
TessTackle · 28/07/2019 07:47

I managed to self refer! Now just a 5 day wait to get an appointment..

You could be much further along than you think - I had a friend who got pregnant on the pill. She went for what she expected to be a 12w scan and was nearer 20! I’d say all bets are off for now, but congratulations and hope it all goes well for you.

Try not to worry about what may or may not have happened in the past few weeks. Of course it’s ideal not to be drinking etc but babies survive quite a bit of abuse. Someone I went to school with was a very heavy drinker and apparently didn’t know she was pregnant until delivery of a term baby (I say apparently because there were a lot of cryptic Facebook status updates that in hindsight could be read another way). Anyway, she was drunk most weekends for the whole pregnancy and the child is basically a genius.

Myshoesarenew · 28/07/2019 08:09

Sorry the word abuse there isn’t helpful. Not sure why I typed it

TessTackle · 28/07/2019 08:15

@Myshoesarenew no worries about the wording I know what you meant Smile

I’ve had a “period” 25th June for one day and 5 weeks before that another short one so think my cycle may be longer than 28days?

I may well see if I can get into the epu as previous pregnancies haven’t necessarily been straightforward

OP posts:
Myshoesarenew · 28/07/2019 08:23

If you have reason to think an EPU visit would be warranted with your obstetric history I’d probably just rock up at the EPU and see what they say

TessTackle · 28/07/2019 14:18

I guess I’m just anxious because of previous experience!
