Making kids party bearable for the adults

Having been to many a children’s party I find them stressful. Loads of kids running round etc, and usually starving because they always seem to happen over lunch time.

Can anyone recommend any ideas to make the party a bit more bearable for the grown ups.
The party is for a 3 year old in a village hall, hired play equipment etc so they will have plenty to do, be enclosed and safe.

Thanks in advance!

I do mine at 10.30am... No ones napping and they can go home for lunch.

I used to do all the face painting for all my friends parties for years. They just used to park me in the corner with a bucket of wine. The last few faces may possibly have been slightly less sharp than the first few. Aaaahhh, Happy Days!

Seats and a soft drink/snack. You sound very thoughtful. Smile I don't like alcohol at kids parties though. Parents drinking and then driving their kids home isn't great. I know most wouldn't drink so they are over the limit but some do so I wouldn't want to be the one providing it.

A glass or two or prosecco has always gone down well at ours. And definitely nibbles for the adults.

Wine and samosas. There's an Indian caters near me where you can get massive samosas for 50p each.

At the last one I went to, the magician was more popular with the adults than the children. I'm not sure you could really hire one just for the parents though. Grin

Perhaps it's just the area though — I had a stall at a school fair, and the parents spent longer on the colouring in than the children did!

Food, drink and maybe some introductions would be good.
