You're going through a bit of a rough time and someone gives you a treat, just for you. What is it?

Just looking for ideas.... Relative is having a crappy old time of it. DC is currently in the process of ASD diagnosis and their behaviour is so challenging that my relative has had to give up work. Their neighbours are fucking horrible and have been causing all sorts of bother. They've been very very generous to us now and in the past and are always passing on brilliant quality clothes/toys/house stuff and came down to help us paint our house last year.

I want to give them a treat, just for them. Relative loves tea, crafts, and bath stuff. Her DH likes outdoorsy type climbing things. I was thinking maybe a DVD, a voucher for a takeaway (is that a thing?) and bath stuff? I'd get them a restaurant voucher but worry they'd struggle to get someone to take the DC

A voucher for a takeaway sounds great, if you can find one! My in-laws did a big food shop for us after my c section, with all my favourite fancy biscuits and chocolates that I would normally only buy at Christmas/ birthdays. I still well up thinking about it now 😂 it was so thoughtful and I felt so spoilt! Maybe a meal subscription, like gousto or hello fresh? You still have to cook them, so it's not such a treat as a meal out, but it's still really handy

Also you sound lovely ❤️

I think you can get justeat vouchers?

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 26/07/2019 15:10

Some fancy bath stuff that they wouldn’t splash out on themselves? Molton Brown perhaps?

Thatmustbemyname · 26/07/2019 15:12

Justeat vouchers or netflix/now subscription??

Floralnomad · 26/07/2019 15:15

Could you get them a restaurant voucher and look after the children whilst they go out , even if it were for a lunchtime .

Changedmename1234 · 26/07/2019 15:15

A treat just for me that’d be really appreciated -
Afternoon tea voucher (groupon?)
Massage voucher
Book tokens
Flowers
Tesco delivery entirely of goodies - wine, chocs, etc

They have Netflix - does a voucher entitle you to extra films or anything or would it not be worthwhile? She loves reading on her kindle actually, maybe an amazon voucher would be better

Cook do vouchers I think. I bought a whole load of Cook meals for SIL after she had her first DC - it's so nice to remember you have something delicious in the freezer when you just CBA..

I think Lush stuff makes for great treats - its frivolous and not something you'd normally buy yourself (unless you're a teenage girl) and does smell pretty good..

I love @Changedmename1234 Tesco idea - but make it Waitrose and have it delivered on a Friday night with things for a lovely Saturday breakfast in it as well.

Offer to look after the children so that they can go to dinner or even during the day so they go out and finish a conversation?
