Hair dye question - can I go brunette w/o going green

I have bleach blond hair. I want to buy a box dye and DIY at home back to brunette. Will this be a disaster? Hair last bleached 7-8 weeks ago

You will need to 'pre-pig' the hair before the brown dye so buy a very copper / red colour first like a 7.44 or 6.6 to put the red undertones back into the hair, use this dye first and wash off and dry, then apply your brown as normal and you shouldnt go green.

Yes, this. Use a red/copper first.

You could use the henna from lush- a red one then brown. It is lovely for your hair.

As has been said above, use a red-toned shade so as to counteract the 'green' in your hair.

Don't use henna unless you're happy to commit to it until it grows out though 😄

Thank you, everyone.

Any recommendations for a particular brand and/or share?

I definitely second the warning about committing to henna! I made the mistake of bleaching previously-henna-ed, very damaged hair... I had to shave my head as loads broke off at the roots, the rest went green. Luckily I was pretty happy to rock the shaved head look for a while.

Wow AnxietyFarts - I've dreamed about shaving mine off but wouldn't dare! I switched to ginger box dye to match it then slooowly growing out. Reckon it's chin length now so might go for the chop in a couple of months. I did love it for years though, nothing matches that colour 😍
