What's everyone doing with their kids tomorrow in this heat?

It was 33 degrees here at 7pm and is forecast to be worse tomorrow for the first day of the school holidays. So what are people doing with their kids?! The house is fairly cool but too small and stuffy to stay in all day, and it's too hot between 10-4pm to be outside at these temperatures. So what can we do?! I'm thinking maybe cinema. Oh and my eldest hates swimming so that's out. Kids are 5 and nearly 8.

We did as planned, swimming we got home at lunch time and spent most of the afternoon just lazing around. Listening to some music, while I began to sort through dd's wardrobe. It feels slightly cooler after the thunderstorm we had this afternoon but not much. I'm hoping it cools down a lot before bedtime.

I went round my mums as her garden has shade and her house is cooler than ours. Then Tesco (for the air conditioning) then Netflix afternoon in front of the fan. Got tuff tray out for the baby and filled with water.

We've done nothing at all. Dc played outside most of the day with wet T-shirts on (and sun cream and stayed mostly in the shade and had plenty to drink) apart from between 12-3 when they came in & watched TV in the living room with the curtains closed and the fan on. I used this time to snooze on the sofa because I had a crap night's sleep last night due to the heat.

We went out to buy new sand this morning, quite cool in the shops. Then when we got back DS went for his nap and DD and I cleaned the sand pit. She stood in the shade with a bowl of soapy water and washed the toys, I got rid of the old sand. When DS woke up they played in it for a bit, then went in the paddling pool for a bit (shady by then). We walked around to the Co-op to get some ice cream and it was blissfully cool in there. They had baths, I had a shower.

DH has been WFH today. He sat in DD's room with the fan.
