Can it be too hot to go the beach?

What temperature would you say is just right to go to the beach with kids?

Do you think there’s a temperature that’s too hot to go to the beach with them?

I don't think it's the heat as such, as you've got the water and possibly a sea breeze to keep cooler. But the sun exposure is very strong. If you go, go early and then head for some shade over the lunch/middle of the day hours.

Beach is a great place to go as long as protected from sun. Mid day go for lunch in some shade.

It's hard to put a temperature on it. For me, it's more about exposure to the sun and the risk of burning. Baking sand and blazing sun isn't much fun anyway.

I'm in Australia, perfect beach weather for me is over 35, but 30 is probably better with little kids. We only go for a few hours though, not all day, as we go to the beach loads (its at the end of our street). Once it starts getting over 38 the sand is bloody roasting, I managed to blister my big toe one day last year when it was 39. The sea is warmer than I like at that temperature too. So long as you have a beach tent or umbrella and plenty of factor 50, it really depends on what you are used to I guess. We also go to the beach morning or mid afternoon, as the sun is very strong around midday.

We live in Cyprus.
Beach weather for swimming in the sea is anything over 29/30 and not too windy. Anything above 38 and the sand is too bloody hot. But like a pp we don’t go all day. Either we head down first thing and come away at lunch or go down after 4. Beach is at the end of the road.

If I were in the U.K., I’d go whenever I wanted but take shade and make sure to stay hydrated, and protected from the sun.

Depends if you have to be dragging umbrellas, blankets, towel, picnics etc with you.
