Town or country?

I am wondering, how many people are townies and how many crave the countryside, less traffic, cleaner air but less to do?

We’re in suburbia. Air is clean, we can walk to fields but also to all the amenities.

I’m rural. Animals, tractors, dark nights and you can see the stars.

Hatethe city, too many people and noise.

Edge of a small market town with a connection to London for me.

Country, not rural - four legged animals, tractors and a need to drive

Done the London scene, prefer the country life now

Countryside girl at heart, grew up in small village, lived in large one for many years with loads of fields, footpaths etc just over the garden gate. Moved to much smaller village and hated it - too cliquey, having to drive 3 miles each way for a pint of milk etc but adored the quiet, the lack of streetlights, the peace, the wildlife. Now living on outskirts of a large market town with rail access north and south and love it - mostly. Miss the fields but love that I can walk to get milk, or for a takeaway or for a meal out. Still don't know what I would do if I won the lottery - would I get a cottage with a field in the countryside or stay put?

Yes, the lack of street lights, owls hooting, no traffic noise is great, but lack of public transport and shops is the drawback! I crave the country life but in the Winter it can be a bit grim.
