Argh how do you get out blood?

I've bled through the bedsheets and mattress topper on the bed in the very lovely air b'n'b I'm currently staying in.

I'd normally go and find some blood remover stuff but I don't speak the language well enough to find it. What can I use to get it out? Preferably something I can find in a small supermarket.

I also have awful period pain and am currently feeling very sorry myself.

Thanks

Sugar soap perhaps. I have very young little ones and I find I have to get sugar soap out weekly for something (the last being felt tip on my cream painted wallpaper)
If nothing works and you dont have the balls to tell the owner, bin the protector and flip the mattress WinkGrin
Best of luck and don't let it ruin your trip WineGin

Cold water and bar soap will do it.

Soak in cold salt water (just add a load of salt to cold water) and then try and wash it out. Don’t use hot water!

My DD had a nosebleed in an Airbnb last week. During the night without waking so it had dried in. I got it all out with cold water and liquid hand soap (and a bit of scrubbing). I didn't soak the whole sheet just did the affected bits then hairdryer to dry!

Soak in cold water and salt. A tip I learned from a nurse!

Mrscog · 23/07/2019 07:05

Cold water first - not a hint of warmth, rinse as much as you can, then add salt - leave the salt on to draw out stain, then rinse again, then more cold water and soap and more rinsing.

Repeat as many times as you need.

Salt and cold water

EyeEyeCaptainCaptain · 23/07/2019 21:26

I did the salt and cold water and it worked. Thanks Mumsnet! I also managed to enjoy the day with the help of some paracetamol and a heat patch (and a bit of just grinning and bearing it).
