eBay question

Found a dress on eBay that is almost half the price that it is currently on sale in store for.

At £200 it is far more than I have ever spent on eBay and the seller has stated that they will remove tags and labels before posted to avoid resale.

Is this a legitimate sale? What are my options if the dress is spoiled etc when I receive.
Will I be refunded the money?
I'm an eBay novice!!

Run.
If they are removing tags I'd bet it was a fake.

calistaraines · 22/07/2019 17:53

My worry is that I will pay the money and get something other than that I was expecting.

The seller gets good feedback however...

If you pay by Paypal you're covered. If you get something you weren't expecting you would just file a case under 'item not as described' so you would get your money back.

The only clothing I've bought thats had tags removed has been fake though. If seller really is avoiding resale then seller is a dick. Once you buy and pay for something it's yours to do with as you wish.

They have to do it or they could get in trouble

Ok, they aren't removing the labels, just cutting them through. Thats different. I imagine you'll still get a dress with labels, just with a nick in them.

JanetandJohn500 · 22/07/2019 18:46

May be shoplifted. If you can live with that, go for it.

Soola · 22/07/2019 20:47

@JanetandJohn500

If it’s a business seller they have to destroy the labels to prevent returns, but yes if it’s an ordinary seller it could be a shoplifter although they don’t really have a reason to prevent a return.
