I wore some sandals tonight and have got blisters on the soles of both feet. I need to wear these sandals on Friday to DDs graduation. How do I either get rid of the blisters or cover them so they don't hurt!? Help me???

Get some compeeds. They really work. Don’t get own brand though.

This is not recommended but it’s what I do. CorN feet with anti-septic, then sterilise a meddle in a flame and in some anti septic. Gently pierce the blister (it doesn’t hurt I promise) and drain the fluid, clean the area again and apply a dressing. Or see a podiatrist who will do the same but charge £20ish quid.

*needle not meddle

I second Compeeds. The best blister plasters by a mile.

I can drain the blister okay. That's not an issue. How can I make the blister go away and not reappear the next time I wear the sandals? I need feet hardening tips that work in 5 days. Impossible?

Blister plaster (Compeeds or Tesco/Morrison own brand). Wearing one on any area likely to blister will usually prevent blisters.

You could put surgical spirit on your feet. You could thread a needle with a cotton thread through the blister and out the other side and leave the thread in with a overnight. Or use Compseed as has been suggested and far safer.

I can't prevent the blisters. I already have them. Does that make Compeed less likely to work?

Compeeds are like a second layer of skin over the blister. They are brilliant so should work fine although I’ve never had a blister on the bottom of my foot before.

MoltonSilver · 21/07/2019 23:04

Compeed will help the blister heal faster. Use Scholl party feet next time you wear the sandals.

If the standard sized blister plasters are too small, then buy the larger Hydrocolloid dressings, which will cover your existing blistered area and the rest of the sole of the balls of your feet. If you are careful when you put the plasters on, they can remain in place for up to a week and will withstand washing/showering. As well as healing the existing blisters, they will cushion your feet. Gel insoles in your shoes will also help prevent blisters.

Compeed will allow you to wear the same boots that gave you the blister today- tomorrow and do more mountains- and again day after day- just don’t pull them off or you take your skin off too!! they will fall off after a few days when not needed/ done
