Explaining gaps in cv

I worked until January, was hoping for a permanent position with them but it didn't work out.

I've been looking for a job with no luck since then. But then I had an accident requiring surgery and it will be another 6-9 months before I'm (hopefully) fully recovered. 4 months til I can drive again. I'm having physio 2x a week, this should stop to once a week in a couple of months. DS also has 3x therapy a week, which I now need double time to get to as we have to bus it. Which makes looking for a job in the near future pointless as I'd have to keep requesting time off for appointments.
So what do I write on my cv? Should I leave it blank after my last job or should I write something to explain the gap?

I'm looking for part time (because of DS) and it's hard enough to get an interview as it is!

I would be honest on your CV, “time off taken to recover from an serious accident”. Then they won’t jump to negative conclusions and you can easily explain it if they ask

I agree, state reasons for ending last job - contract ended & having time off to recover from accident / illness. You can't lie in CV.
They will need a reference from last employer anyway.

Don't leave a blank. State the reason.
Depending on your health and circumstances, are there things that you can do to keep up to date with the industry/job. Any online courses you can do in the downtime if you feel well enough?
Just keeping your hand in a bit might make you feel a bit more confident when you start jobhunting again. But your priority must be to get well, of course.
