SPD/pelvic pain in pregnancy?

For those that had Spd - what did it feel like?
I've told my ob a few times that I've got groin pain and she said it sounded like round ligament pain.

The last few days have been a lot worse. I'm 15 weeks btw. It's mostly on my right side. I feel pain in my groin, my pelvic area, my thigh, but also further up towards my abdomen and sometimes my back hurts. When I go to the toilet it feels like pushing on my pelvic area and it hurts. Having a full bladder makes it worse. Does this sound like SPD?

I had bad SPD or PGP in all 3 of my pregnancies. It was a sharp pain in the middle, front of my pelvis (The bone underneath where public hair is). I recommend sleeping with pillows between your knees and ankles to keep your legs parallel. Avoid pushing trolleys. Carry weight evenly in each hand. Keep your knees together and swivel when getting out of cars. You can buy a pelvic girdle cheaply. I wad in a wheelchair by 12 weeks. Good luck!

@horrayforharoldlloyd see mines not really on the pelvic bone where you're describing. It's to the right and in where my thigh connects and that sort of area where ovaries are.

You poor thing being in a wheelchair. Though I'm starting to think I'm heading that way.

As above, definitely middle of the pubic area, especially when walking or standing up. I definitely found a pregnancy pillow beneficial and when it got worse found an osteopath really helped.

For me it was the middle of the pubic area mainly, but also the hips and lower back. The front was by far the limiting factor in doing things though, I didn't get as far as a wheelchair but I wasn't able to lift my foot into a backless slipper by the end. Then the second time it got worse after the birth and I wasn't able to get into the hospital bed without help.

PGP, pelvic girdle pain is more generalised than SPD. I tend to describe it as SPD because it's better heard of. I did have some symptoms directly in my pelvis and many years later there are still stress positions that reactivate it (digging with a spade, side plank rolling over to the other side). Most of it was burning around my hips and affecting me from my thighs to lumber area like a cycling shorts of pain.

Keep lightly active but without aggravating it if you can... easier said than done as sometimes you don't feel it until it's too late.
Avoid wide-legged activities including getting in and out of the car.
There is a lot of advice out there.

Your GP should be able to refer you for an appt. with a physiotherapist. They will give you some exercises that can help and should supply you with a support belt.
