So nervous about ttc #baby2

I have a 3.5 year old dd

We are ready to start thinking about baby 2 and I think we would start to TTC around the end of this year/early next year

I had a horroendous first pregnancy
Morning sickness lasted all the way through at my worst I was being sick 7 times a day at my best it was once a day but constant nausea
I developed pre eclampsia and was induced at 35 weeks
Thankfully dd was healthy and had no problems
Restless bloody legs ( this is the thing putting me off the most ) absolutely debilitating . Couldn't sleep at night . Couldn't relax in the evenings as had this horrible feeling of needing to move my legs all the bloody time . As soon as I gave birth it stopped. It was so bad it used to bring me to tears . I'd take the sickness any day over this again. .
Heartburn so bad it used to make me vomit blood
I had episodes of bleeding vaginally throughout pregnancy to and no cause was ever found ( we wasn't sexually active during ) so it wasn't that
Needle phobia .
All in all it was a bloody difficult time But ultimately worth it .
A 2nd pregnancy could be a lot easier right ??

It could be totally different OP but who knows. I hope it is, your first one sounds pretty tough. Do you have family to support you?

What helped me -

Try the anti sickness wristbands. Meant for travel sickness but did help me when I was pregnant with my second.

Eat little and often. An empty stomach made the sickness worse.

Horse chestnut tablets stopped my restless legs immediately but I didn’t have restless legs when I was pregnant so you would have to check they are suitable when pregnant. I’ll try and find what I took. They were miraculous.

I’m needle phobic and had all blood tests at the hospital where they are doing them all day long. I also asked for a children’s size needle/paediatric which I have no idea if that’s a thing or not and they lied but it helped placate me. I also close my eyes after booking in and inform them and when it’s my turn the nurse comes out and takes my arm and guides me into the room and my eyes remain closed until it’s over.

Insisting on no pain relief of any kind during labour to lessen the risk of any needles.

Heartburn - I took Rennies as I hadn’t heard of ranitidine then. Check if ranitidine is safe whilst pregnant as it is a very effective medicine.

I needed extra iron and that really helped me.

Most of all, concentrate on the years of joy your child will being as compared to the relatively short time of your life that you are pregnant.

I absolutely hated every second of being pregnant as I was so drained but my labours were quick and easy and of course the joy of children is wonderful. Mine are adults now!

Honestly not even prescription medication really helped the sickness
Nothing I did helped it was awful but not as awful as the restless legs

I gave birth last time with no pain relief as I was so terrified of needles
I had to have the steroid jabs and a anti sickness jab to keep down my blood pressure meds and they was some of the worst parts of the labour tbh .
My worst fear was needing a c section.

This is what I took

uk.iherb.com/pr/21st-Century-Horse-Chestnut-Extract-60-Vegetarian-Capsules/13002?gclsrc=aw.ds&gclid=Cj0KCQjw1MXpBRDjARIsAHtdN-0oao8p8fMjjIuslCGktQpGJcsKHiXe1d2OuvXcNYvz7LBWGqSdr8caAhGyEALw_wcB

Beyond amazing. They stopped my restless legs immediately. I can’t see anything about taking them whilst pregnant so you will have to contact them.

I just remembered it was low magnesium that caused my restless legs.

How my great grandmother lived through 16 births is beyond, all without even seeing a doctor....
