Need 5 bunches over a few days. Cheap but good quality and something the teachers will like. Any ideas?

Aldi or Lidl.

Bluebluered · 18/07/2019 09:47

How much is a bunch?

I find that Tesco flowers last very well.

Bear in mind teachers might be setting off on their hols so won’t be home to enjoy flowers, OP.

I got a lovely big bunch in Lidl for £5 yesterday.

^ this, unless it's for a presentation of some sort I'd go for something less perishable.

Bluebluered · 18/07/2019 13:47

We will be presenting gifts to the teachers...maybe I’ll look for potted plants instead

Root round the supermarkets for reduced ones.
Cut off the end inch, plunge into just boiled water for ten seconds, then stand them in deep cold water overnight to freshen up. With an asprin tablet or two in the water.
Re wrap them in your own paper and hand tie. They will last much longer

Bluebluered · 18/07/2019 15:10

Wow. Thanks @Thesuzle

As a teacher, can I suggest plants instead. Most may well be setting off on hols so cut flowers are wasted. I was really sad one year to have a lovely bunch of sunflowers that I had to give away as leaving for a fortnight abroad next day. Really, buy wine. Just wine. Oh and wine. You can get a box of six and then split it. Even if the teacher doesn't drink they can regift wine more easily.

No scented candles. They breed in the cupboard!

Did I mention wine?

Flyingarcher · 18/07/2019 15:29

Miniature roses are nice and can always be planted outside too.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 18/07/2019 15:32

Asda did pots of peace lilies with labels on for teachers at a rock-bottom price last year or the year before.

I bought one for myself & I haven't managed to kill it yet, which is something of a record for me.

BrokenWing · 18/07/2019 15:33

@Flyingarcher instead of a miniature rose, how about wine 🍷 instead?

Flyingarcher · 18/07/2019 16:05

It's been a looooong term!

Plants are a good idea too. Will have to venture out to a gardeny type place. I’m not green fingered, soooo...
