Lifetime membership of the National Trust

I've been offered the opportunity to buy lifetime membership of the National Trust, I'm in my early 30s so would hope to be using it for a few decades.

I live in London and have a 2 year old DS. I have access to a car so can explore further afield. Is it worth the £400?

My parents offered to buy me NT lifetime membership for my 21st, many years ago, I'm afraid I laughed at them :( Now I'm paying £60-odd pounds a year for membership I could kick my younger self...

My DH got Lifetime Membership for his 21st, he added me to it when we got married ... we are now in our 60s so have had incredible value from it. Grin.
