With it? Good deal on prime today but I don’t know if I should jump or not!

I love mine. Used almost daily for porridge, great for risottos, stocks, stews.

piefacedClique · 15/07/2019 14:50

Love mine too! What’s not to love about risotto in 8 minutes!

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 15/07/2019 14:52

Love mine, pulled pork in an hour, great for stews and soups. Rice cooker function is amazing, I probably use that most now.

SweetPetrichor · 15/07/2019 15:40

One of the best things kitchen items I own. I use it most week nights and it makes cooking so fast and easy.

Happyelfjokeday · 15/07/2019 15:42

Had mine for a few years and still use it at least once a week for something... have to keep it on the worktop though otherwise I think would use it much less!

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 15/07/2019 15:44

it's INSTANT pot! I love mine, had it for two, maybe three years, after readung a thread on here about them

I use it most days, and since my cooker broke, every day!

I have also got rid of my slow cooker and steamer since buying it, I would probably run back into the house to rescue it should the house catch on fire!

I am dying for the mini one to come out so I can get one of those too.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 15/07/2019 16:53

Love love love it!

Risotto is so easy in it. All sorts of stews , curry , chilli , bolognese work well.

I was worried it would be one if those gadgets that get used for a week and then get forgotten about but it's fantastic.

CleanHonestGoals · 15/07/2019 17:07

Best Mash ever! Will never do mashed potatoes in a pan again

Knittedfairies · 15/07/2019 17:16

I take mine on holiday, but only if self-catering. I don't love it that much that I'd take it to a hotel...

sueelleker · 15/07/2019 18:28

Great for hard-boiled eggs; 5 minutes cooking, 5 minutes to release pressure, and stick them in cold water until wanted. (The US Facebook group suggests ice water, but I never have enough ice cubes on hand,)

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 15/07/2019 18:31

It that like an electric pressure cooker?
How do you make porridge?

Pinkarsedfly · 15/07/2019 18:36

Yep, love mine. Do it,OP!

LumpySpacedPrincess · 15/07/2019 18:36

What are the timings for mash? I have an electric pressure cooker not a pot but much the same and I luffs it. Cooked gammon tonight, risotto tomorrow. Good for chillies and stews, soups and sauces. Much better than a slow cooker, really packs the flavour in. Couldn't be without it.

meepmoop · 15/07/2019 18:39

I have one, couldn't recommend it enough.

I use it all the time and have just put freshly made yoghurt in the fridge.

Aquamarine1029 · 15/07/2019 18:44

I love mine and use it at least 3 times a week. Wouldn't be without it.

wowfudge · 15/07/2019 19:11

The price today is better than it was on Black Friday last year so if you want one, go for it. We have one and it is very useful. I don't try to cook everything in it, but some do.

LaganBubbleCruises · 15/07/2019 19:38

It’s a really good price today. I use mine a lot to make yoghurt , pulses really quick and curries. The recipe book it comes with it pretty useless though better to search through mumsnet threads

DeltaAlphaDelta · 15/07/2019 19:44

Has anyone bought any of the extra bits for it (glass lid for example) or is it enough straight out of the box?

Aquamarine1029 · 15/07/2019 19:53

I have bought a steamer basket and the glass lid, but you certainly don't need to have them.

Jupiters · 15/07/2019 20:11

I've bought one today... Where do people find recipes for it?

Purplehammer · 15/07/2019 20:53

Best thing I’ve ever bought.
Loads of recipes on Pinterest and YouTube.

DeltaAlphaDelta · 15/07/2019 20:54

Sod it, ive wanted one for ages and you lot have talked me into it 😬😬

wowfudge · 15/07/2019 21:06

A spare liner is useful - I've got the non stick one.

Whitney168 · 16/07/2019 08:54

How do you make porridge?

I make it 'pot in pot' - so water up to the level of the wire stand, then a big jug sitting on stand with porridge makings in it. (Don't forget porridge's great expansion capabilities, give it room LOL.)

Pressure cook button for 5 minutes, leave it to natural pressure release then I just go about my morning and it will keep it warm until I'm ready for it. (I often leave it to it and take the dogs for their morning half hour.) Much creamier than making it on the hob.

(As an aside, Waitrose Essentials are THE best porridge oats, much nicer than the expensive ones.)

Samcotton85 · 16/07/2019 11:04

Yes I love mine. One of the benefits of an InstantPot over all the other electric pressure cookers is that it has a stainless steel pot therefore the risk of heavy metal poisoning is minimum. Avoid the non stick ones.

I make bone broth in mine all the time.
