Reusable light incontinence pads?

Apologies for TMI, slightly grim post - I suffer from mild stress incontinence, and I wear a very light/discreet pad for "sensitive bladder" every day.

I'm getting through 30 disposables every month, obviously - I've looked everywhere for a washable/reusable solution, and I tried the bamboo variety, but unfortunately the ammonia smell even part way through the day was obscene so they had to go.

Everything seems to be designed for menstruation, not small quantities of urine - there are a few washable underpants around, at £20 per pair, but I haven't found any cheaper options! Has anyone found a reusable pad solution for mild urinary incontinence, that doesn't make your eyes water?

Incidentally, I have name changed for this and I am not a pee troll. It's doing nothing for me, believe me.

I'd recommend looking at Weenotion's PeaPods. They're designed with stress incontinence, with different levels of absorption available, though also work for menstruation.

I've used them for both for years - I bought my set about 5 years ago and can not recommend them highly enough - they've been magic for me.

Thanks BiBabbles, I was looking at those earlier but was unconvinced as I saw nothing to indicate, erm, odour control!

Have you found them to be as effective as disposables for...all the elements we need in a wee catcher?! Blush

Oh and...whats to stop them leaking? I can't see any leak proof technology

My mistake yes there is.

I've ordered a single peapod to try, although I'm sceptical about odour control.

Any other ideas/suggestions?

Sorry to hijack but have you tried an Elvie pelvic floor trainer. I'm considering one but it's £160 so I'd like some opinions. (I'm also hoping Prime Day might offer a discount!).

For bamboo, if you follow the washing instructions for washable nappies you’ll find loads of advice - there’s a process called stripping you need to do. I think with any fabric regularly exposed to wee you’re going to get some ammonia build up - not letting them dry and soaking straight in water after removing is probably a good idea.

I haven't Blankie - but will do some research!

Enjoyingscience I deduced from my reading that there are care instructions for this type of thing - but with the one I tried I didn't even get that far, I got halfway through day one and it was so bad whilst still in use - I mean, just from wearing it for a few hours - that I thought I don't dare try again, I just binned it!

I don't think I'm an especially fragrant or sweaty person - I'm a little overweight (not massive) and I leak a bit (but only a little), so I thought maybe they just weren't designed for wee. I do have some historic bladder issues which adds some complications (regular infections) but I don't think I'm unusual?

I don't use them for menstruation, as I don't menstruate - mirena coil.

I use reusable pads and haven't had an issue with odour at all. Maybe I don't leak as much, I don't know. Disposable pads seem to irritate my skin so reusable are much more preferable for lots of reasons.

I ordered mine from amazon a couple of years ago and they are still in use but just ordered some peapods as they look so pretty😳

Crap, it's just me then
