Out if the blue this morning I received a dreaded brown envelope from DWP, opened it and saw the ‘we’ve decided to review your claim’ sentence and started to have a huge panic attack - a huge number of things trigger a panic attack for me. Anyway I read through the letter and they have awarded me, both daily living and mobility at an enhanced rate, award on an ongoing basis.

My next review is in 2029. After having a read online this should be a soft review. I’m completely overwhelmed, no more reviews every 2-3yrs.

My award was due to run out in 2021 and was fully expecting to get my renewal paperwork in August/September time as I did before.

Sorry I don’t really know the point to this thread, I just can’t believe after nearly 7yrs they have accepted I will never get any better, only worse.

Very glad to know it sometimes works out OK in the end.

Like I said it came as a huge surprise, I must admit I did cry.

Hopefully the changes that were made last year will actually start coming through to help others.

@maxineputyourredshoeson, can I ask you what you get pip for? I get it for a lifelong condition and am wondering whether I can expect a similar letter

RonDarlington I have several life long conditions that will never get any better and that have been getting progressively worse over the past 7yrs. I have both physical and mental health issues.

From all of the googling that I have done today I think it’s down to a change that the government have made. I did recently have a home assessment for ESA and have previously had a PIP assessment. The below link is very helpful as to the changes and tbh what I think triggered the letter.
