Really boring thread about Asda maximum orders

I need to order quite a bit of food to do a bit of catering for a family event. I've noticed Asda have maximum orders of certain items (e.g. 12 tubs of cream) but I need more.

Is there any way around this e.g. if I book two consecutive delivery slots will I be able to order 12 tubs in each delivery, or will they stop me? I don't want to have to go to the shop myself - I don't have a car and while the bike is fine for the weekly shop it's going to be a bit much for what I need on this occasion.

Call/message them and ask?

Could you not get different brands?

gregorythesheepdog · 12/07/2019 07:18

I’m not sure, could you use Tesco instead or is it the same? Probably best to give Customer Services a call. Ps what are you making that needs more than 12 tubs of cream 🤔😁

Could you order some from another supermarket?

I know there are caps on how much you can buy in store too, to stop small business owners or just ordinary customers clearing the shelves of one item or another.

You can phone a few days in advance to arrange for a larger quantity to be ordered and set aside for you.

That's in all supermarkets, not just Asda btw.

Call them. They may not stock the amount you need. I order soya growing up milk monthly and they now know to order extra for me. The 1st order was for 90 cartons. They thought the order was a mistake and didn't deliver them.

stucknoue · 12/07/2019 07:20

The same thing applies in store, it's to stop people clearing them out of a product, even reselling I've heard of. For those sorts of quantities the cash and carry Kay be better, you can buy cream in large containers etc

TitianaTitsling · 12/07/2019 07:21

Or different sizes?

When I was manning the bbq at our local rugby club do, I ordered the hot dog and burger buns from Morrison's the day before and just went and picked them up. They were so grateful that I hadn't just cleared the shelves.

So call Asda and ask.

xyzandabc · 12/07/2019 07:24

When we've needed say 200 cookies for an event, we just call the store and order them in advance. This is both Tesco and Morrisons, I'd imagine most other supermarkets are the same.

It's so you don't clear them out of a particular product, they have max limits for just buying off the shelf. They are perfectly happy to fulfill big orders but just need 7/14 days notice.

TheHobbitMum · 12/07/2019 07:37

Call them and ask to place a bulk order? I often take very large bulk orders in my Aldi store and its never an issue.

If they have prewarning for what you need they can order extra in so not to leave products out of stock for everyone else and it shouldn't be an issue for you to have what you need.

Mummytoonlychild · 12/07/2019 14:32

Yes you can book 2 delivery slots same time I work in Asda in home shopping and we regularly get a 10+ orders for the same place they get delivered together for this exact reason
