Are those "cold infuse" teabags a bit of a swizz ?

Can't I just use fruit / herbal teabags and shove them in cold water instead?

Or is there some sort of magical formula which (1) makes them more flavoursome in cold water and (2) actual science to justify the extra £3 A box?

They are OK but the massive (supposedly recyclable) plastic tub for 12 bags is ridiculous

MrsMiggins37 · 11/07/2019 01:23

They actually do have more flavour than “normal” fruit infusions though, which taste of fuck all.

I bought the Tetley ones in a pack with the water bottle, they were awful, I had the mint & cucumber ones & they tasted mouldy.

,Are they not just posh squash for grown ups?
No sugar or artificial sweeteners in them, nil calories. I like them

I love all things rose flavoured and rose fragranced so I bought the Twinings Rose Lemonade ones but didn't like them at all.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 11/07/2019 08:25

We tried the Twinings strawberry, passion fruit and something else, which was utterly vile. We threw it away. I have the orange, lemon and ginger, which is better, but not wonderful. I’ll stick to water or dropping lemon or lime into a bottle.

I'm with @AllTheWhoresOfMalta I do this and have not had any issues. Although I am now going to try adding fizzy water thanks for that tip Grin

I've been cold brewing herbal tea for years and not been sick... so I guess from my side it's a swizz!

Some can but most are ok. I'd be careful with Fennel as salmonella has been found in batches before.

No idea about the OP, just wanted to say last time I read the word "swizz" must have been in a Jennings book, 40 odd years ago.
