Just wanting to get some outside input really & name changed for this.

Currently pregnant with DC2 and more than likely looking like induction same as first DC.

With DC1 MIL&FIL wanted to know the second I went into labour so they could wait outside the hospital told them no to waiting outside but knew they wouldn't listen, I wasn't happy with this so DH & I decided to wait till DC was born... the second she was out DH rang family to inform them.

Well shit hit the fan then and he was arguing with crying MIL on the phone whilst I was being saved by 2 doctors...

We don't speak to MIL anymore (not because of that) her and FIL are not together but very close and see each other regularly, recently found out he's been sending her pics & videos we send him of DC1 fine, whatever...

So I have decided when this baby is born I want to be on the ward and fully aware before FIL is told baby is here, It will either go one or the other but I think this is fair and saves me any embarrassment on delivery suite.. iv also told DH if anyone start shouting he has to block their number until we get home.

is this fair? DH is happy with this...

Perfectly acceptable.

Yep sounds good, less stress. We get on great with our families and non would have come and waited at the hospital, but we still waited until she was born and i was back in the birthing suite recovering.

@TremblingFanjo @timeforawine Thank you both! Hoping this time to have a nice experience with no one crying screaming and arguing 🤦🏻‍♀️ x

All the best OP :-) x

More than fair. DH told his parents first (at my request) after both DC were born, after I'd been stitched up and we knew that we were both ok. No woman who's just given birth needs that much drama from 2 supposed adults!

I always feel so sorry for women with parents and PIL who act like this. I had an EMCS at 35 weeks. Admittedly we live abroad away from my parents but my PIL didn't come and visit until a week later! Again we were still in hospital and my husband is quite forceful but they definitely wouldn't have forced themselves on us. I'm sorry you had to deal with that OP. Your MIL sounds batshit!

@CustardCreamLover she definitely is! She wanted DH to run out into the car park when baby was born to tell her so she could see his face 🙄 what a fairytale world she lives in! I was on delivery for almost 12 hours after because of how much blood I lost! He had to look after DD I was out of it!! She never even apologised it was us that went to her and she still causes trouble after that so we stopped contact unfortunately ! X

Hi OP. So very glad to see your DH is so very in synch with you on this. So often you see the partner/husband being a jellyfish towards his parents (mainly mother) with the result his partner/wife is disadvantaged.

Congratulations on the impending addition to your family and I hope you have a good/uneventful birth! 👶🌷
