WWYD with £50 to spend on games/toys for 3.5 and 6 year old

Have been given £50 from a relative to stock up on toys/games/craft for the summer holidays. Need things for 3.5 and 6 year old. What would be worth the investment?

Giant garden games, orchard games, chalk board vinyl.

Lumene · 08/07/2019 22:11

Thanks hiding I’ll have a look at those. Any giant garden games that are good?

My 5yo and 3yo never seem to tire of giant Jenga. They don't actually play the game but they build towers / castles / houses or use them like dominos and knock them down.

Do you have a garden? You could get a swing or a decent paddling pool?

(Very jealous because I don't have one)

Lumene · 08/07/2019 22:52

Giant Jenga excellent idea.

Like the idea of a swing although the younger one is a bit errr spirited so not quite sure am prepared to get him unfettered access to one yet.

Paddling pool a good idea though we already have a (cheap but fun) novelty one.

Pavement chalk - fairly cheap but entertaining. Also buckets and large brushes for painting the wall/floor/fence with water. You can draw designs with water, the sun dries it again and you gave a fresh canvas.

Couple of orchard toys games for wet days - older one might like pop to the shops - has 'money' to spend and give change. Ladybird game or spotty dog game for younger one - counting, pattern matching on the die and learning to take turns.

Trampoline. Best thing we every bought. Get a net too, though.

get down the charity shop and grab yourself a few bargains!

Lumene · 08/07/2019 23:40

Thanks all. Will have a good browse of Orchard Games and nip down the charity shop.

I think pavement chalk is a brilliant idea but I bought some from Tiger (£1 - bargain) and pretty much zero interest. Confused

I would quite like a trampoline myself...
