Just want to express my relief

I can't do it IRL

Bitching and moaning and abuse about my wedding plans. My mum going overboard and expecting a Royal style event, then falling out with me and declaring she wasn't coming second fucking wedding, she also wrecked the first

So fuck it

No one is coming

We've just booked a trip to Las Vegas and will get married for about $300 possibly by Elvis

The relief 😮

Good for you! We got married in New York with no guests and I wouldn’t change a thing about it

We did this as it the wedding was for us.We did have my mum and stepdad as my brother had done the same with myself and is now wife's eldest sister as witnesses so we couldn't do it to her twice.Exhs parents were also invited.They were told to bring nice clothes as we were going for a posh meal.
We only told them about the wedding at 11am of the morning and me and my mum drank the end of the champagne on the back doorstep.
It was simple,romantic,perfect.

Fab. My friends did this. Cancelled the big bash, booked a registry office. Only time slot available was 9.30am, all done by 10am. They each had their sister as a witness, then went to M&S for a cup of tea and a scone.

We had an amazing celebrant in Vegas - if you want her information (or to chat about anything else about getting married in Vegas) just give me a shout.

My mum did this! (Also second marriage) but not for the same reasons.

IF and it's a huge IF I got married again it would be me and him and our dc and that would be it. No fuss and minimal expense.

I think I'm really getting a "fuck off" vibe as I get older and I'm less inclined to be dictated to 🤷🏽‍♀️ it's very liberating

My mum is a sweetheart btw - she just gets very emotional and excitable and turns into a complete nightmare

I'm thinking A Little White Chapel and maybe a night out to Penn and Teller after 🙂

Good on you OP. I always imagine this is the kind of wedding I'll have because my family are utter arseholes at get togethers

We did this too. Stayed at the Bellagio got married at The little white Chapel. Limo flowers certificate all in for 200.

We then went for streak in the old part of town.
I do not regret this one little bit I had a fabulous time and had my honeymoon all thrown in as we drove to LA a few days later and had a few days by the beach.

Just in case though- my sister got married in Vegas and told me that she had to get a license in the uk first.
It may have changed since but just had to say.
