Holidaying like a pro with two under three...

Help me flit round Portugal like a stylish woman who has life nailed for a week in September. Despite fact I will have two babies with me. And a husband.

What are your tips for from a style/beauty perspective pre hols/during hols?
How do people get ready quickly and look polished?
Then how do you survive the week itself without coming back needing another holiday on your own?

We're going all inclusive with a kids club.

Flattering clothes that you feel fabulous in - they take the same time to put on as horrid clothes.

Get your eyebrows done and hair trimmed before you go. A decent tinted moisturiser and waterproof mascara. Pedicure is a good way to look groomed too.

Personally I prefer a swimsuit rather than a bikini for holidays with a toddler, as I'm less likely to burn and feel more comfortable.

Put all the nappies/ kids paraphernalia in a rucksack to hang on the buggy/ husband so you just need to carry around a stylish beach bag with your own stuff in. Make sure you put lovely things in for yourself for around the pool and beach.
While kids are in the club treat yourself to a spa treatment ( if the hotel has one)

Yep, there was no need for my phone to do that!!

First holiday with both dc? Mine don’t travel well, I’d have low expectations on the glamour and restfulness stakes! Dreaming has good tips

DinosApple · 08/07/2019 18:23

Sounds like you'll have nailed it with AI and a kids club. Just don't do what we did when the DC were 1 & 2 and forget the buggy!

Fabulous, and relaxing now they're older (8&9) so it won't be long. Im never glamorous though so can't help with that.

Are you very routine orientated at home? We are not, so these tips may or may not work:
Forget lunch. Breakfast, snacks all day, tea.
Forget bedtime. Go to the entertainment and then everyone goes to bed about 9pm.
Walk miles while they sleep in the pushchair.

Can't help with looking polished, I rarely manage that at work never mind holidays!

Derbyshirelady · 09/07/2019 06:04

Great tips thanks everyone. Especially not sticking too much to routine.

babyshark I think that was some kind of subliminal messaging, but it's too late, we've booked!
