Pressure king pro or slow cooker

Yes, I do realise they’re the total opposite of each other!

About to start longer hours at work and looking for either quick dinners or something I can stick on in the morning and leave (although if I’m honest I’d rather not leave something on all day!)

Can they be compared or are they 2 completely separate machines?! If so, which to go for!

TIA

I had a slow cooker, which I only used at weekends cause I don't like leaving something on when I'm out all day...

I got an Instant Pot for my 30th and I'm not exaggerating when I say it has changed the way I cook. I can't recommend it highly enough. I love the fact that I can do everything in it, I can soften the onions for a dish, and anything else, then set it to pressure cook, rather than a slow cooker where you need to do sautéing before adding it to the slow cooker. I also love that I can cook everything in it - so I do spag bog where the pasta cooks in with the mince and is a one pot meal. I also do chilli mac and cheese which is similar. It's great for soups too. I do pretty much all of my cooking in it. And it's superb for a work night. Chilli mac or spag bog only requires 5 minutes pressure cooking to be done. I've made chicken curry with lovely, fall-apart chicken in 7 minutes. It's the best kitchen thing I've ever had!

You can sauté using the instant pot, it really is wonderful.

I don’t tend to get the burn message even when cooking with tomatoes.

@IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece I know your thread was created a few months ago, but wondered what you went for in the end and how you’re finding it? I’m considering upgrading my decade old slow cooker for something which makes thick stews ready for when I get home. Thanks :)
