Any traffic wardens or police around?

My neighbour who has form for some anti-social habits appears to have bought a full-sized fire engine. It's parked on the grass verge outside my house and has been since Wednesday. Is there anyone on here who knows about the legalities of this? I'm assume that it's been acquired fair and square, but is it allowed to be parked on the street? I've googled and can't find any info on the subject at all.

Any vehicle should be parked on the road, not on the pavement or verge. If the council maintains the verge they may be interested in stopping parking on it, but other than that I don't think there's a lot you can do.

I'm sorry that I have nothing helpful to add, but...

A full size fire engine? Just parked right outside?

Could you pleeeeaaase post a pic??

feckingfireengine · 07/07/2019 20:13

@JWrecks I will do if I can do it without outing myself (I realise there is some irony here since there can't be many streets with fire engines parked in them)

How strange. Is this even legal? I know it's illegal to impersonate a police officer or paramedic but not sure about a fire fighter.
Really want to see a picture.

feckingfireengine · 07/07/2019 20:18

@RebootYourEngine I wondered the same but there seems to be a few auction sites that sell decommissioned fire engines etc and I found the exact one on one of the auctions sites as having been sold in April. I'm fairly sure that most of them go to private estates or similar, or to places to use as bars or kids playgrounds, most don't seem to be parked on residential streets, as far as I know!

Not illegal to own or park in the street. If it’s not fully blocking the path then it isn’t causing an obstruction however parking on the pavement MAY be an offence but that would be for the council to pursue.

@Manclife1 thanks, I must admit I am surprised as it's so large!
