Healthy no effort snacks

Modestandatinybitsexy · 05/07/2019 11:12

I have a toddler and a newborn. I'm craving everything bad due to bf hormones and am hungry, so hungry all the time!

It doesn't help that little one is constantly attached to my nipple so it's incredibly hard to grab anything other than biscuits or crisps during the day.

I know I don't lose the weight even while bfing so would like to start watching what I eat but I'm struggling for ideas.

Can anyone recommend easy ready to eat snacks for me please?

Hard boiled eggs - keep half a dozen of them in the fridge.

Rice or corn cakes with low fat soft cheese.

Cold cooked meat - nice ham, chicken breast, lean sliced steak. I cook in bulk and keep tubs of it in the fridge and have a handful of chunks at a time.

Raw veggies and salsa dip.

All things that will fill you up much better than sugary or processed stuff.

And if you can be bothered with a bit of faff, bake some chick peas in the oven, choose whatever spices you like. Here is an example.

Twiglets.

Crackers with low fat Philadelphia.

Cherry tomatoes.

Thank you! Some great ideas here. Currently got some eggs on the go and am adding plenty of things to the next shop :)

Fruit. Especially bananas.

Fried fruit and nuts. I love dates.

A glass of milk.

Greek yoghurt and honey or fruit.

Handful of nuts. They are so good for you and contain loads of beneficial nutrients. Even though they are quite high in fat it is ‘good’ fat. They have so many health benefits if eaten in moderation and they will help you feel full between meals.
Variety is the key - Almonds, Pistachios, Walnuts, Cashews, Pecans, Macadamia, Brazil, Hazelnuts, etc.

If you want a healthy snack that feels naughty, I can give you a granola bar and a bliss ball recipe. My while family love them, kids think it's the best treat
