Could we have mice but the cat hasn't noticed?

I swear I saw one out of the corner of my eye today.

But we have a cat, a very inquisitive one. Granted she is getting on a bit and not a renowned hunter but we couldn't have mice without her even noticing..... could we? Shock

Yes. I've got a cat and the reason I have a mouse in my living room is cause he bright it in and lost it. The mouse is evading capture and the cat has no interest in finding it.

We have works going on outside (scaffolding up) so I'm hoping ot was just a rogue visitor I know its unlikely

I just can't believe my cat wouldn't have got an inkling when she can smell tuna from 3 doors down Grin

We have an incompetent cat. Well, two incompetent cats really, but it's kinder to say that the elderly one has retired. Every now and then I find mouse shite behind the settee, or holes appear in the curtain linings. It's every 6 months or so, so I'm pretty confident that it's a new mouse each time rather than an ongoing infestation. Once our proud predator has done half a job, she lets the mouse go and apart from a bit of staring at corners, loses interest completely. I get the traps out and take mousie to a new home in the woods.

She’d definitely smell it. My old girl has only ever brought in one baby bird that was already dead when she found it but loves to sniff the cellar for rats. I think she’d have heart failure if she actually found one

We had a mouse gifted to us by neighbour's cat and had no idea it was in the house until I heard noises one night and began a search.

My cat was ignoring it and letting it eat her food.

The culprit that brought it in also ignored it.

Yes, we have a cat who brings mice in then looses them......

One cat went utterly mental when we had mice, he loved chasing them in slow motion into their hole, catching them would have spoiled a good game but at least we then knew where they were living.

My lazy boy didn't even lift his head at the scratching and must have smelled them too.

We saw a mouse run in and go under the bath when DH was knocking down our old shed, cat ran under the bath behind it then got completely distracted by the fact there was water dripping...mouse literally inches from her face but she only had eyes for the drip!

Grin @ the cat who let the mice eat its food.

No obvious / outward signs of mice so I'll keep an eye. Seems like I'll spot more than the bloody cat will Grin
