I'm struggling for birthday gift ideas for my dear friend. The problem is in the past few years I've bought her some lovely gifts, I was better off and she does does have quite expensive tastes! She knows I'm not as well off now and so won't be expecting me to spend a lot but I want to get something lovely and thoughtful. Trouble is I'm struggling to think what!

What’s your budget?

Georgiemcgeorgeface · 04/07/2019 16:54

Hmm. Probably max £40. God that sounds tight cry cry

Was going to suggest a diptique candle but they are over £50

What about a silk or cashmere shawl/wrap from Amazon? I've just had a quick look and wouldn't mind a present like that for myself. My own birthday is coming up and I will probably treat myself!

What sort of interests does she have or what kind of person is she? Just for ideas of what might like

Tickets to something (obvs not a west end show!)

There are lots of outdoor screenings of movies around at the moment. We've been to a couple and it's lovely and different. Tickets are less than £10.00.

2 tickets £20.00, warm wrap/blanket thing £5.00, picnic/wine/snacks £15.00.

Take your own chairs etc, it's a great night.

Definitely wouldn't get biscuits in a tin though. Just clutter up the place and seem a bit of a cop out. Candles aren't overly thoughtful either. Ten a penny nowadays

What about something like a National Trust membership ?

Thanks. Some good ideas. She is a keen gardener. She does love to go see a show so I might look if here's anything on locally. I sometimes get her a pamper day and we go together but I can't afford that at the moment.
