Hi. I am doing all my stuff for self assessment. I wanted to know what other cleaners did about petrol and Mileage? Not sure how it works with receipts etc. So you just keep all ur petrol receipts and then just make a note of the mileage you have done? Any help would be good as this is my first time doing this and don’t want to get it wrong

Cleaner here. Keep a tally of miles driven each week. Allow 45p per mile for expenses.
I keep receipts.

It depends. Have you put the cost of your vehicle through the business? If so, you need to keep receipts for your petrol, services etc, and records of your milage, and claim in proportion to business /personal mileage.

If you haven't, you can still do that, but you'd probably be better to claim 45p for all your business miles only, and just keep records of good business journeys.
