I took my DD to watch Matilda for her 6th birthday. She loved it!

moreismore · 02/07/2019 21:05

Aquarium and London eye and possibly Madame Tussaud’s depending how good her celeb knowledge is?! (I don’t know any 6 yr olds....) Oh and the rainforest cafe followed by a trip to hamleys.

I've been thinking abut taking DS to Kidzania but not tried it yet. May be worth a look?

My 6yo wants to go to Harrods this summer. She has unusual ambitions at times!
Favourite spots for her and her 8yo sister include Tower Bridge, Docklands railway, boat rides, and exploring using their Eye Spy book. Used to like Natural History Museum but have now declared it to be too crowded.

Emmapeeler · 02/07/2019 21:10

My DD would choose Kidzania, if asked!

I took DD (5) to London in the Easter holidays. We were there primarily to see a children's ballet, but did some sight seeing too.

She wanted to visit the monument to the great fire of London (had covered it the term before at school) so we climbed to the top of that (you get a certificate!), walked along the river a little to see Tower Bridge, got a riverboat down to the London Eye, walked up to Trafalgar Square then into Covent Garden to watch the street performers.

Then the ballet, Wagamama for dinner and the train home.

Best day ever apparently Grin

listsandbudgets · 02/07/2019 21:24

LOL fixyourgardengate wonder if your dd is at the same school as DS who also did the great fire and then demanded a visit to the monument the next time we were in London.

It took a long time for my legs to forgive me the climb. The view was good though

The Lego store and M&M’s world shop are across the road from each other in Leicester Square. Worth a visit if you are passing by.

Toomanycats99 · 03/07/2019 08:02

There's an ice cream (amorinos) place that makes ice creams like flowers - each petal can be a different flavour. That was a hit with my 7yo!

peaceand · 03/07/2019 08:04

Harrods have a princess theme section and Disney restaurant.

trackingmedown · 03/07/2019 13:18

Shrek World of Adventure is great and not too long so wouldn’t tire out a child. If they have lots of stamina, it’s right by the aquarium and the London Eye. Don’t go to any of the crowded, sticky overpriced eating places round there but buy a nice picnic from the M&S nearby in Waterloo station and eat out on the grass.

Needallthesleep · 03/07/2019 15:30

The slide at the Orbit!

whitehalleve · 03/07/2019 15:43

You need to be 8 to ride the Mital slide.

jackparlabane · 03/07/2019 15:47

Sushi from a good conveyor belt place, walk along South Bank, play in adventure playground, dinner from the food market near Waterloo.
Or trip to Tower of London and see the Crown Jewels.

ChicCroissant · 03/07/2019 15:57

If she likes museums, either the Science Museum or the Natural History Museum.

If she likes Princesses, then afternoon tea at one of the Princess-type cafes - book a carriage at one of the Tea Terrace places.

Would agree with a PP about the Lego store and the M&M store, we always end up going round them and my DD doesn't even like M&M's!

Bear2014 · 03/07/2019 16:07

My same aged DD loves London Zoo.
Southbank and London Eye/Shard
Diana memorial playground
Clipper boat and Cutty Sark/Maritime Museum and Greenwich Park

I'm taking my DD for her 6th birthday soon! We are planning natural history museum and science museum, princess Diana memorial playground, tower bridge or sky garden for views, a river cruise and Kew Gardens.
